What is EduCake?

EduCake is a fundraising and awareness activity that brings people together with tasty cakes and sweet treats, while helping raise understanding of learning disabilities and inclusion.

Whether you’re taking part at school, work, in your community or at home, every cake baked, shared and sold helps create opportunities for people with disabilities to live full, active and inclusive lives.

Around 1.5 million people in the UK have a learning disability

Only around 5% of people with a learning disability are in paid employment.

More than 70% of people with a learning disability report experiencing discrimination

Every EduCake event helps raise funds and awareness for people with learning disabilities, autism and acquired brain injuries. By bringing people together over cake and conversation, you’re not only fundraising, you’re helping challenge misconceptions and build a more inclusive community.

EduCake is an awareness and fundraising campaign from Options. By hosting a tea party, cake sale or community event, you’ll help raise funds and understanding for people with learning disabilities, autism and acquired brain injuries.

No. While tea parties are popular, you can organise a cake sale, workplace bake-off, quiz night, coffee morning or any event that brings people together.

We recommend using Enthuse as your fundraising platform so donations are secure and easy to manage. We’ll guide you through the set-up.

Not at all. Homemade, shop-bought or donated cakes are all welcome.

Anyone. EduCake is perfect for families, schools, youth groups, businesses, community groups and individuals.

You can set up an online fundraising page through Enthuse or use an offline sponsorship form included in the fundraising pack.

Funds help Options create opportunities, inclusive activities, accessible information and life-enhancing experiences for people with disabilities.

Absolutely. Many businesses use EduCake as a fun team-building activity while supporting their local community.

You’ll receive a free fundraising pack, fundraising tips, promotional resources and support from the Options fundraising team.

No – every contribution matters. Set a goal that feels right for you.
