Accessibility and inclusion training themes

We group our support into three themes that reflect the points where access and inclusion make the biggest difference: how people join, how they stay and how they experience your organisation.
You can focus on one theme, combine them, or explore all three as part of a wider plan. The examples under each theme show the types of activity we can offer, we’ll shape the right mix for you based on your goals and where you are on your accessibility and inclusion journey.
Theme 1
Inclusive recruitment
How people join your organisation sets the tone for everything that follows. We’ll help you look beyond compliance and focus on experience. Our support can help you to review how roles are described, how people apply and what happens when they join you. So more people can apply, and more feel welcome when they do.
Examples of what this could include:
- Recruitment process review: a full look at how roles are advertised, applied for, assessed and offered – with a focus on identifying hidden barriers.
- Job advert and JD audit: support reviewing the language, layout and tone of recruitment materials.
- Inclusive language check: help to reduce jargon, ambiguity and unintentional bias in the way roles are described.
- Mock applications / walkthroughs: working with a person we support to test your application process.
- 1:1 sessions with your recruitment team: coaching-style conversations to share insight, answer questions and build internal confidence.
- Optional interviews with recent hires: to surface insights around inclusion, onboarding and lived experience (if appropriate and with consent).
- Advice on reasonable adjustments in recruitment: practical guidance for each stage of the process.
- Support with inclusive onboarding: how to make the first weeks feel welcoming, clear and manageable – especially for those who process information differently.
- Tailored recommendations: a summary of actions, sorted by impact and ease, to support long-term improvement.
Theme 2
Retention and workplace culture
An inclusive culture doesn’t happen through policies alone. It grows from everyday practice and confidence. We work with teams, managers and HR leads to understand what inclusion looks like in real situations and to identify where extra support, flexibility or clarity could make the difference.
Examples of what this could include:
- Team culture audit: gather feedback from disabled/neurodivergent staff (where appropriate), team leads and HR.
- Policy review: assess whether internal policies reflect inclusive values in practice.
- Line manager confidence sessions: training or 1:1 coaching to build confidence in handling access needs, adjustments and conversations.
- ‘Accessibility champions’ framework: help set up a peer-led model for ongoing support.
- Scenario-based training: workshops that tackle common challenges (e.g. what to do when someone discloses a disability mid-role).
- Reasonable adjustments review: support reviewing what’s in place and where gaps exist.
- Toolkits and checklists: bespoke guidance to help embed good practice.
Theme 3
Accessible experiences
How people join your organisation sets the tone for everything that follows. We’ll help you look beyond compliance and focus on experience. Our support can help you to review how roles are described, how people apply and what happens when they join you. So more people can apply, and more feel welcome when they do.
Examples of what this could include:
- Accessibility walkthrough: mapping physical and digital touchpoints with a focus on potential access barriers. Plus, an observational visit to review physical space through the lens of different access needs.
- ‘Quick wins’ report: practical, achievable changes you can make right away.
- Service testing with lived experience: working with people we support to take part in mystery shopping.
- Accessible communication audit: reviewing internal and public-facing documents for language, clarity and inclusion.
- Frontline training: equipping staff with confidence to support diverse customer needs through tailored scenario based training.
- Inclusive language workshop: practical session on language and unconscious bias in communication.
- Easy Read translation support: either direct input or guidance on producing accessible versions of documentation.
- Advisory session on sensory environment: guidance on lighting, noise, signage and overstimulation.
- Alternative formats guide: practical advice on offering information in ways that suit a wider range of people.
- Feedback loop design: how to gather input from disabled people and act on it meaningfully.
